The Overview
Altering the presence of Marlow.
Marlow is committed to instilling confidence in its users by providing access to Its resources and guidance. This drove the desire to recreate a website that would truly embody the essence of Marlow's mission and values.
The Problem & Objectives
Marlow sought to improve retention, increase conversion rates, and create a stronger presence of branding on its website. Due to the existing design not meeting these goals, we were tasked with creating an effective and elegant solution, aiming to boost performance and establish a well-rounded brand presence. Our primary objectives included:
  • Introducing a modern, open-feel design while maintaining the identity of Marlow that our customers loved
  • Developing a proper design system that would establish consistency throughout the entire site
My Contribution
I was one of two designers on the team, and I stepped up to lead large portions of the redesign process. This involved doing one-on-one chats with our teammates, sketching out plans and making high-quality prototypes, and re-approaching all of the website's pages. I also took part in maintaining the design system to keep everything looking sharp and consistent across the entire site.
Our Design Process
The Research & Define
Gaining perspective.
Our initial research aimed to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the existing Marlow website. To gather unbiased feedback, we asked individuals who were not yet familiar with Marlow to ensure objective opinions.
User Surveys
I had fifteen peers do a run-through of the current site and presented them with quantitative surveys afterward. The goal was to leverage user's perspective on what was  and what wasn't working on the current site. The surveys primarily focused on identifying visual elements that were deterring from the experience.

Site Map
We worked on visualizing the current site map to guarantee navigation consistency throughout the website. This helped us gain insights into users' paths and destinations at each step of their journey.
The Design

With our curated solution mapped with wireframes, it was time to focus on color, typography, and iconography.
Typography & Color Pallet
Preserving the essence of Marlow's branding remained a central part of the assignment. We developed a design system that not only stayed true to the existing brand identity, but also introduced a fresher feel.
The Solution
The new age of Marlow.
Afterward, we breathed life into the site using Bubble.io – a code-free platform that made the implementation process a breeze. Being an all-designer team, this phase also offered us a unique opportunity to dive into a developer's mindset, learn the ropes, and execute with confidence.
The Hero
We've crafted a fresh and inviting introduction to Marlow. Our mission and incentives are presented clearly and prominently, using a well-balanced hierarchy that ensures easy comprehension. Right from the start, we introduce clear Calls to Action (CTAs) to actively engage the visitors, and we proudly showcase Marlow's champions to establish its credibility.
About Marlow
We've revamped the Marlow journey to make it crystal clear. We've designed a timeline that tells our story chronologically, making it easy for visitors to follow along. This approach is incredibly valuable because it caters to all our user personas, whether they're seeking coaching, exploring investment opportunities, or considering to join the Marlow team.
Elements that Help Tell the Story
We've incorporated an effective use of graphical elements to enhance the overall narrative. Our use of spacing, colors, and a deep understanding of what visitors seek on a website all contribute to a seamless and effective story-telling experience. We've carefully crafted these elements to ensure they complemented the user experience.
The Old Versus the New
In summary, we've successfully reduced visual clutter and confusion from the original site, achieving a balanced and contemporary aesthetic. This transformation has opened up new possibilities for increased conversion rates.
The Conclusion
Final Thoughts & Results
With the a few more internal prototype testing sessions, we shipped the site live. Many of the Marlow's users gave positive feedback on the new look. Two new businesses onboarded shortly after this redesign.
As I've been working on this assignement, I've come to realize that my role goes beyond simply making a website look aesthetically pleasing. Understanding the goals of website visitors is crucial for ensuring both high retention rates and conversion rates. This approach ensures that both the business and visitors achieve their objectives efficiently.

By constructing this using a code-free development tool, I've had the opportunity to delve into the thought processes of developers and gain a fundamental understanding of back-end development, which was really cool to me. This knowledge has equipped me with improved communication skills for collaborating with developers and anticipating constraints in my future design career.
